FAQs
Are there things I need to do before arriving?
Yes. Prior to arriving, we ask that you do clearing work both with yourself and any partner(s)/lovers regardless of whether they are also attending. We will prompt you with instructions on how to do this when you receive the full invitation. We also strongly request that you get STI testing before arrival, although not required.
Do I have to stay for the full 24 hours?
We require all attendees to stay overnight to continue the integration process in the morning. This is a very important aspect to receive the benefits of the ceremonial aspect. If you have a strict commitment or need that prevents you from staying, please speak to us beforehand and we may be able to accommodate you.
Is this a sober event?
We request that all attendees arrive and remain sober until we open the container for light, conscious cannabis use once the energy for it flows later in the night. We will be providing caffeine throughout the night as well. We do not allow any other substances and only allow minor cannabis use at designated times in designated areas.
What is the schedule like?
We ask all attendees to arrive at 1 pm on Saturday. We’ll begin with guidelines and a cacao opening circle, followed by potluck, connection activities, ritual, and then open play. The container will close later in the night once the energy wanes, and the following morning we will eat a freshly cooked breakfast while integrating our experience together. Ceremony closes around 2-3 pm on Sunday.
What happens if i can't connect with anyone?
We prioritize heart-centered connection over surface-level attraction. We invite you to see what’s possible and break through normalized paradigms of attraction–you may surprise yourself! We ask you to be resourced enough within yourself to put yourself out there, take initiative, and create the experience you want to have while also releasing all expectations around connection.
Can my partner & I come if we're in a closed container?
Absolutely! No one is obligated to engage with anyone they don’t want to. While we invite inclusion, this is a great space to explore kinks and edges with your partner(s) in a safe and fun way. We’ll also honor special requests for accommodating you – just let us know ahead of time.
Do I have to bring food?
We ask that everyone bring a potluck dish to share for dinner and any sexy snacks so we can all enjoy food throughout the night. We will be curating a potluck dinner through the attendee Telegram group chat one week before the event. In the morning, we will cook and provide a hot breakfast for you!
What do I wear?
Each Play Temple has a different theme. We will prompt you with clothing ideas in the full invitation. We encourage sexy outfit changes throughout the night along with layers so you can undress at your pace and cozy clothes for the morning.
What if there's someone attending who I don’t feel comfortable with?
We highly encourage you to work through your resistance and have clearings with other attendees you don’t feel comfortable with before attending Temple. However, if there’s someone you absolutely DON’T FEEL SAFE WITH, then we’ll ask for additional information about your experience of the individual so we can assess whether they’re a safe person for the space. We may facilitate clearing conversations with them and/or you in confidentiality.
We also have a first-come, first-serve policy where if the person you feel unsafe about RSVPs after you, you will be given priority to attend and we’ll ask them not to attend (and refund them). For this reason, we release the list of confirmed and potential attendees to those who are seriously considering attending Play Temple upon request.
We reserve the right to amend this policy on a case-by-case basis to best suit container needs. We promise to engage in open clear communication to uphold the values of fairness, safety, and overall well being.
What if someone is making me uncomfortable during the event?
Address the situation with your facilitators IMMEDIATELY! We will handle the situation as it can best be addressed in the moment.
Can I get a refund if I can’t attend at the last minute?
No. Due to the nature of the event and the intensive hands-on container-building approach, we have a no-refund or ticket transfer policy. However, if you have an emergency and cannot attend, we will apply your payment as credit for future Play Temples or other Aphrodisia Codes events.
We also have a first-come, first-serve policy where if the person you feel unsafe about RSVPs after you, you will be given priority to attend and we’ll ask them not to attend (and refund them). Can I go to sleep before the container closes?
Yes. There will be a room with a closed door that will be available for people to go to sleep in if they need to before the container closes for the night. If you are noise-sensitive, please bring whatever you may need to help you sleep more comfortably. We provide earplugs.
Do I have to have penetrative sex?
Absolutely not! You don’t have to engage in anything you don’t want to, nor are you expected to! In fact, many participants have never engaged in any kind of penetration.
Is this container for me if I am celibate?
Yes! While it can be tricky to navigate when celibate, we believe that the medicine of the space comes from being in the frequency of erotic energy, even if you aren’t currently actively engaging in it. This can be a perfect opportunity to practice upholding your boundaries of celibacy and discovering more about yourself. Moreover, the spectrum of conscious kink doesn’t always necessarily involve the exchange of sexual energy, so this can be an area for you to explore and engage in while at Temple.
